As my book very thoroughly addresses, whether the immune system disease AIDS is truly caused by the virus called HIV is seriously in question. At this time, there are literally hundreds of scientific references I could cite on this subject. Some of the scientific references at the Alive and Well organization in Los Angeles are only the tip of the iceberg.
If you can envision that HIV is a myth of some intense complexity, as complex as a large tropical rain forest tree with thousands of branches for instance, then to strike at the trunk of that tree would be to examine some very simple scientific postulates called Koch’s Postulates. For a microbe in question to be defined as a retrovirus, it has to follow these postulates (postulates are like rules, in this case more like prescribed behaviours) in order to be thought of as a virus. Koch’s Postulates were first established in the 19th century as part of what our scientific/academic peer community regards as rules of behavior that a microbe has to follow in order to be classified as a retrovirus (as opposed to one of the many other things that could be negatively affecting the immune system or a huge number of other bodily systems).
There is a scientific document written by an organization in Australia, which spends most of its time scientifically reappraising the HIV/AIDS mainstream theories, called the Perth Group. They have written a document called “A rebuttal to the NIAID/NIH document ‘The Evidence That HIV Causes AIDS’.” In it, they cover all four of Koch’s Postulates, spelling out very clearly and specifically why HIV fails to meet the requirements of the postulates. I’d like to quickly summarize HIV’s failure to conform to science’s provable understanding of these simple postulates right here for you, so that you can see why the trunk of this tree does not truly stand so firm:
Postulate #1: Epidemiological Association – In other words, you have to strongly be able to associate the suspected cause (in this case, supposedly HIV) IN EVERY SINGLE CASE with the disease. HIV here fails to meet the necessary facts and figures. Specifically, to quote the Perth group’s paper, there were “43,606 . . . American AIDS cases recorded by the end of 1992″ which were “not tested [for HIV]“. So clearly, in these cases, the cause being HIV is totally unproven.
Postulate #2: It must be able to be isolated from the host and grown in pure culture (EVERY TIME!). From the Perth Group’s document: “Even Luc Montagnier, regarded as the discoverer of HIV, has admitted that his research team failed to purify a virus. He also said ‘analysis of the proteins of the virus demands mass production and purification. It is necessary to do that’. [sic] His team ‘had not enough particles produced to purify and characterize the viral proteins’ (Tahi, 1997).” AND THIS IS ONE OF THE DISCOVERERS SAYING THIS! Now, I’ve really questioned this one in quite a round about fashion. For instance, the more widely credited discoverer of HIV, Robert Gallo (also the more profit-amassing discoverer by the way), has a website now called AIDSTruth.org and at the following URL ( http://www.aidstruth.org/new/science/studies ) he provides three links to scientific studies which are supposed to foundationally confirm the indisputable relationship between the discovery of HIV and AIDS. Yet, I have read all three studies over and over again and it’s clear to me that the above Perth Group stands out as the clear winner in scientific validity. All three of Gallo’s cited studies do nothing more than provide the same circular logic that the Perth Group’s study describes; that is, the idea that HIV has been isolated and purified through an extremely elaborate chemical process of transformations and permutations that can’t actually be proven to have anything to do with HIV itself–it’s like one of those classically false syllogisms from elementary school: a equals b and b equals c so c equals G. WHAT? You’re telling me c equals G because we can ASSUME c equals d and d equals e and e equals f and f equals G. NO, that is NOT sound logic. And HIV has NOT been isolated. You can bet your bottom dollar (the one that’s paying for the $100 billion HIV pharmaceutical drug cartel). 
Postulate #3: “Transmission Pathogenesis” a.k.a. “Transfer of the suspected Pathogen [HIV in this case] to an uninfected host, man or animal, produces the disease in that host.” Here again we have numerous exceptions, all documented. And yet, for over 2 decades, we have been treating AIDS based on the theory that HIV is the cause. How can this be when the evidence is so easily brought into question? Well, think for a moment on how much MORE complex the immune system is and how complex its nutritional requirements for real, whole foods may be and what affect the situation of our world may have on those requirements not being able to be fulfilled.
This approach requires many more words to tell, and it does not fit as snugly on a billboard as for instance “HIV Truth” or “We can Beat HIV.” Imagine a billboard with “we can re-appropriate organically grown, eco-sustainable whole foods from a nutrient-dense, traditional foods paradigm in order to regain our healthy immune systems.” It just doesn’t work very well from a sheep-herding mass-marketing perspective.

In reality there are a HUGE number of causes of AIDS (all referenced in my book) which have been scientifically proven, which have nothing to do with HIV. All of these causes can be addressed via a return to a real, nutrient-dense, traditional whole foods diet. It isn’t as easy as a pill, and it isn’t as easy as blindly trusting your doctor. One has to take action and change one’s life.
